The old adage “Home Sweet Home” is an understatement as of late when it comes to Isotopes Park. The hometown team has won eight straight games at home (dating back to June 25) and with 29 of their next 50 games at home, the time could not be better for the ‘Topes to heat up in the friendly confines of Isotopes Park.†In fact, Albuquerque holds a 25-17 home record this season.
Keeping up the home cooking could make or break of the ‘Topes chances at their first postseason since the team’s inception in 2003. That year marked the first season with the Marlins affiliate, a year in which the Marlins won the World Series. Maybe just maybe if all the stars align, 2009 could be the same predicament. After all the ‘Topes are on fire and the Dodgers (in their first season as the ‘Topes Triple A partner) hold the best record in all of baseball and, like the ‘Topes, hold a stunning home record of 29-15.†
With both teams stocked with great talent, the chase for the playoff possibility is sure to be an exciting one. Make sure you’re there to support the ‘Topes with their exciting run!
